Sometimes I'd like to ask God why He allows poverty, famine, and injustice in the world when He could do something about it. But I'm afraid God might ask me the same question.

We have a court date!!!

After ten weeks of waiting, we finally got the call of a court date in April!! It wasn't until today when I was talking to travel agents that it finally started to sink in. We are going to meet our babies!!

On this first trip, we will spend two hours each day with the kids. I've dreamed of meeting them a 1,000 times in my head. I will probably be a blubbery mess and I hope I don't scare them :) When our boy came to the orphanage, he spoke a different language then the caretakers. I hope he has learned enough Amharic so the nannies are able to explain to him what is happening and who we are. It must be a very confusing and overwhelming time, especially since we must leave them there for a few more months. Please pray that they have a smooth transition and we can bond and start building our relationship on the very first trip.

On Wednesday of the trip, we have our court appointment. We will go in front of the judge and tell her we are happy to adopt these two children. Later that day, they will let us know if we passed or not. Many do not pass on the first appointment, so I'm trying to get myself emotionally ready for that. In fact, they posted last week that MOWA will only be writing 5 approval letters a day, instead of 40. I've heard a rumor that this is just a way to call an emergency meeting and get some additional employees. They are extremely understaffed and this would be wonderful. If we don't pass on the first trip, we will come home and wait for the wonderful phone call when they have all the paperwork completed. But, I tend to be very optimistic and REALLY REALLY hope we pass the first time. I received a picture today of L and he was crying. It breaks my heart and just gives me more determination to lean on the Lord to help get them home.

Ask me anytime, I now have an app for my phone that says the exact days, minutes and seconds until we travel :)

Love that you have a countdown app. :) :) :)

We had a picture of Lily that looked like she had been crying. Got it about a week after our referral. It killed me. :( :(
